Not only one

After only one day of rain
the pink peony blossoms
from the east and to the west.

Only one hummingbird
is landing in the red sea of love.

Only one thousand yellow stamens rising
from only one hundred flowers.

In the window the white amaryllis
is surprisingly out of season
leaving the north out.

Facing south.

Replaced here it flowers again,
and now into all the corners of the world
after only three months of sun.

The pink peony is vanishing in the garden,
but the white amaryllis goes on and on
in our tropical heart.
